HOW WE HELP THE ENVIRONMENT IN ROMANIA Students from Liceul cu Program Sportiv Satu Mare, Romania help the environment by reducing waste, saving energy, and promoting sustainability. Participating in clean-up events and raising awareness about environmental issues are impactful ways for them all to make a positive impact on the environment. Additionally, incorporating eco – friendly habits into daily routines can contribute to a more sustainable lifestyle To grow awareness for the pollution, we made our students draw posters, and they did quite well!

MICRO & NANOPLASTICS WHAT ARE NANOPLASTICS? Nanoplastics are small plastic particles with sizes ranging from 1 to 1000 nanometers. Those particles are unintentionally produced during the manufacturing and degradation of plastic objects. Due to their minuscule size, these residues can travel thousands of kilometers driven by winds or marine currents, making them present all over the planet and a part of everyday human activities. EFFECTS ON MARINE LIFE Micro and nanoplastics found in the sea can harm the physiology of organisms, affecting their growth and development. They represent a significant threat to marine life, causing negative impacts at various levels of aquatic ecosystems. Micro and nanoplastics are very small fragments of plastic, usually resulting from the degradation of larger plastic or smaller-sized manufactured products. Once at sea, these fragments have several impacts on marine life, such as: Ingestion: Marine organisms, from small zooplankton to lar...

POLLUTION AND NATURAL DISASTERS IN POLAND Poland is home to various types of pollution and environmental disasters that have a negative impact on the environment. Unfortunately, we are one of the countries with the highest air pollution level in Europe. The main source is emissions from the fuel, industrial and transportation sectors, especially coal and biomass. Air pollution leads to the formation of smog that negatively affects human and animal health. It is estimated that about 50,000 people a year die prematurely because of it. Poland has many rivers, lakes and seas that are affected by various types of pollution. The main causes are discharges of waste from sewage treatment plants, industrial waste and agricultural fertilizers from fields. Water pollution leads to the destruction of aquatic ecosystems and loss of biodiversity, as was the case with the Sea Empress oil spill (1996) or the Oder River disaster (2022). No ecological disaster of this magnitude of aq...

POLLUTION IN TURKIYE "Pollution" is a term that generally refers to the contamination of natural environments such as environment, water, air, soil with unwanted and harmful substances. In Türkiye, unfortunately, we see many examples of pollution. We can say that we see different types of pollution in different climates. In our country, we have Mediterranean, Black Sea and Terrestrial climate. In the Mediterranean climate, the summers are hot and dry and the winters are wet. It's a humid climate, so it's not too cold in winter, but it's very hot in summer. In the Black Sea climate, it's always rainy and wet throughout the year. We also see a lot of forests in the Black Sea. In the Terrestrial climate, summers are dry and hot and winters are extremely cold. Especially the eastern side of Türkiye is very cold. In this climate, it usually doesn't rain, which causes drought. -Here’s a map that shows climates in Türkiye. Types of Climates in Türkiye ENVIROME...

ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION AND NATURAL DISASTERS IN TURKIYE While Turkey is renowned for its breathtaking natural beauty and rich cultural heritage, it also faces various environmental issues. Whether it’s an earthquake, flood, forest fire or land slide, it is very likely to be experienced due to its geological position and geomorphological structure. Environmental Pollution Turkey has encountered environmental challenges due to rapid industrialization and urbanization. Increasing air pollution in major cities, particularly influenced by industrial activities, leads to the accumulation of harmful substances in the atmosphere. This situation can result in respiratory diseases and overall health problems. Additionally, water pollution is on the rise with the contamination of water bodies by agricultural pesticides, industrial waste, and urban sewage. Natural Disasters Disasters constitute a complex global problem and inevitable facts of our lives. Disaster...

INCLUSION EXHIBITIONS One of the biggest problems at schools is exclusion. We, as the crew, are against exclusion and we encourage our students to think everyone is valuable for who they are as a human being. Our students drew splendid pictures and we thought everyone should see them! Here are some examples. Look how wonderful they are!

OH, WHAT A START! Since this project began, we have been doing a lot of work; questionaries, posters and logo contests, exhibitions, etc. one of the most delightful parts was our mobility to Bari, Italy. On the first day, after everybody met and knew each other after ice breaking activities, we discovered the Old City, thanks to our great guide! With all the details he gave us about how those monuments, sculptures, churches were built, it wasn't just passing by, it was a great way to learn. Old city, Bari.
